Main AccountabilitiesEmbed a PSM culture in our EHSQS Management System at the facilities and develop local knowledgeProvide regulatory interpretation and technical support on process safety matters and site projectsCoordinate:Compliance efforts in line with COMAH/OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM)and EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP) rulesEfforts around Dust Hazards (Analysis, risk reduction, training)Collection and maintenance of Process Safety Information (PSI) with plant personnelPHA revalidation scheduling and employee participation with plant personnelProcess safety training needsReview of contractor PSM qualificationsReview and follow-up of Mechanical Integrity inspection reportsA sustainable approach to PSM self-audits and inspectionsSite's record keeping process for tracking and closing PHA and audit action itemsIntroduce Process Safety Performance indicators into the facilitiesDetermine appropriate process hazard analysis methodology based on scope of work and proposed Management of Change (MOC)Oversight of Process Safety Critical Asset Integrity/Mechanical Integrity program at the facility.Development of Major Accident Response Plans/Emergency Response Plans and TeamsImplement a sustainable uniform format for developing and updating Operating ProceduresEstablish a culture of program ownership through employee participation by coaching and mentoring employees on their roles and responsibilities within process safety managementProvide oversight to MOC by maintaining and auditing MOC and Pre-Start Up Safety Review (PSSR) records and proceduresChampion facility siting process to embed requirements into an effective management systemParticipate in process safety incident investigationsAnalyze process safety incidents and trends and develop strategic goals for implementationTate & Lyle has no higher priority than to protect our people, the environment, and our business. A recent safety and cultural assessment comparing Tate & Lyle with the Oil & Gas Industry revealed opportunities to further enhance our Environmental, Health and Safety (EHSQS) processes and culture towards how we look at process safety, occupational safety and environmental aspects of our operations.Tate & Lyle will embark on a Journey to EHSQS Excellence (J2EE); a strategy developed for the next 3 - 5 years to further improve our EHSQS culture. The Process Safety Engineer will primarily drive and support process safety management initiatives at the Decatur facility, in line with the global Journey to EHSQS Excellence and the COMAH/OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA Risk Management Plan (RMP). Together with the operations, engineering and maintenance teams the Safety Engineer will improve overall safety performance of the Decatur facility. This individual will work on projects of varying scope that will encompass multiple aspects of safety (Hazard identification, Hazops, Dust Hazard, Bow Tie Analysis, Scenario Based Auditing, and Incident Investigation).Protecting our people and the environment is foundational to our businessEach team member is expected to support the Tate & Lyle culture where Environment, Health and Safety are the overriding values in all activities.
