Project / Manufacturing Engineer - Decatur, IL Full-time - Direct hirePay rate: $75,000+ (Depending on experience)Kelly Engineering client seeks an experienced Foundry Project/Manufacturing Engineer to be responsible for leading and managing projects to maximize the overall delivery standards and solve issues related to customer, site, and technical aspects as the first point of contact. The Project/Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for maintaining productive and positive relationships with key internal and external partners.An effective Project/Manufacturing Engineer adds value over the lifespan of an asset and drives improvements on the shop floor. Prior to purchase, the Project/Manufacturing Engineer helps guide design and specification criteria to optimize robustness and maintainability and achieve lowest lifecycle cost. Additionally, this position works hand in hand with the operations team to drive process improvements, reduce cost and improve productivity on the shop floor.The project/manufacturing engineer has the primary responsibility for preparation, justification, planning, and execution to assigned projects.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage capital and maintenance projects that include project concept, design, equipment selection, equipment and contractor quotations, and equipment purchase and project coordination
• Ensure projects are completed according to the project plans
• Ensure charters are established and projects are appropriately scoped
• Evaluate requirements of key project stakeholders throughout the duration of the project
• Conduct critical path analysis
• Ensure Gantt charts are established and maintained
• Ensure vendor performance
• Key driver for establishing equipment/specifications
• Primary technical writer and communicator for assigned projects
• Key driver of capital requests and approvals for assigned projects
• Primary point of contact for all functional areas of the business as related to assigned projects
• Complete shop floor projects that drive process improvement and reduce overall costs Required Experience and/or Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree required. Preferred in an engineering-related field.
  • 2 - 4 years experience in a manufacturing environment (foundry experience preferred)
  • 2+ years' demonstrated experience successfully leading projects involving highly technical components
  • Strong experience working with capital project scope development and justification required
  • CNC programming and application experience preferred
  • PMI Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of foundry equipment and process steps
  • Knowledge dealing with complex manufacturing situations, hardware specifications, quality standards, product development, CAD / CAM, and technical specificationsAbout the clientClient is the nation's leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries.
