Job Description Global Technology Director, Specialty Ingredients - Decatur, ILThis is an exempt level position.Position Summary: Global Technology Directors lead seven specialty operations areas including: Oilseeds; Carbohydrate Solutions; Animal Nutrition & Human Nutrition; Proteins; Milling; and Flavors. Each Director reports to specialty operations leader and collaborates with capex and S&T teams to determine priorities and develop a portfolio of technology-based projects for execution. The Global Technology Directors then lead the project portfolio for their respective specialty operations, providing technical support and aligning technologies globally to partner with R&D on innovation. Each Director will lead a small team of direct reports; success of the team will hinge on individuals' ability to influence and collaborate with others throughout operations and R&D.The seven Global Technology Directors and their teams will be responsible for leading, guiding, coordinating, standardizing and ensuring the contributions/impact of the full Center of Excellence across ADM's global operations. Responsible for ADM's getting to and remaining at the forefront of innovation and efficiency through the introduction and use of technology within its global operations.Job Responsibilities:Direct your team in collaboration with technical community to provide process engineering support as needed for development of efficient operations including quality products to our customersDirect the capex planning process for your business units annual and 5 year plans.Manage the capital portfolio, aligned with our strategy by the business leadersEnsure resource allocation for the stewardship of viable capital projects from inception thru validationEnsure your teams level of staffing can deliver on the key business objectivesEffective management of personnel and resources to balance schedules, budgets, and scope/quality of projects under the guidance of the capex process depending on the dollar value of the projectsEnsure written and verbal communication of project activities and key metrics shall be provided to stakeholders and sponsorsProactively engaging in safety, environmental and quality activities which improve overall results while enhancing/sustaining the desired cultureMaintain an awareness of technologies and industry trends via investigating the means by which unit operations can be improved, implemented, and managedCoach, mentor and training engineers in engagement with process technology suppliers to deliver on objectivesJob Requirements:Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical/Agricultural/Mechanical) or appropriate Agribusiness-related specialization required10 - 15 years success and career progression to include a variety of roles in operations leadership (i.e., plant/site) and support (i.e., quality, process and/or continuous improvement, technical support, operations analysis)A proven record of new technology deployments new and/or modifying current operationsExcellent communication skills - both oral and detailed written are needed to be effective in this position.General knowledge of software systems such as Microsoft Office applicationsTravel both in country and abroad at 10-20%Physical Demands:Employee will at times need to work in plant environment in which the physical requirement of the job requires ability to climb stairs/ladders, lift 50 pounds, prolonged periods of standing and sitting, computer work, and from heights, and working adjusted hours.
