Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Pediatrics - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/17/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric RN for a night shift hospital position in Illinois requiring an active IL RN license, BLS, and PALS certification. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in an 11 room, 16 bed Pediatric unit within an acute care hospital - Level II Trauma Center setting - Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 18:00 to 6:30 - Required to work every other weekend - No on-call responsibilities - Floating required within hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed - Patient population includes pediatric MedSurg and stepdown/telemetry cases - Uses Cerner EMR and experience is required - Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients across a range of medical and stepdown/telemetry needs - Support includes breastfeeding, IV therapy, respiratory interventions, and wound care - Must work two out of three major holidays during the assignment - Scrub color is any solid color - No restrictions on local candidates - First-time travelers are accepted - Must not have worked as a perm or PRN employee of the health system within the past 12 months - No parking cost; parking permit required and arranged during orientation - Up to 5 days of requested time off can be auto-approved; more than 5 days may require facility approval - Modules to be completed virtually on the first day /n /n Requirements/n - Active IL RN license in hand at time of application or active application with ETA - Minimum 2 years of pediatric RN experience - Current BLS and PALS certification from AHA or Red Cross (RQI not accepted) - Experience with pediatric MedSurg, stepdown, and telemetry required - Skills required include hyperbilirubinemia and insulin administration, breastfeeding support and handling, gavage feedings, oral/nasogastric tube placement, peripheral IV line care and phlebotomy, pediatric dosage calculations, oral/nasal suctioning, oxygen delivery systems, infection prevention, isolation precautions, and wound assessment/care - Experience with Cerner charting system required /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-626146.
