Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric RN with an active IL
license and a strong background in pediatric med/surg or step down
for a night shift role. Responsibilities Work in the Pediatrics
unit of an acute care hospital with 11 rooms and 16 beds Patient
population includes pediatric med/surg, pediatric step down, and
telemetry cases Typical unit cases include endocrine/metabolic,
gastrointestinal, IV therapy, medication administration, and
respiratory support Uses Cerner EMR with prior experience required
Night shift schedule (18:00–06:30) with three 12-hour shifts per
week Required to work every other weekend No on-call requirements
May float within scope as needed to meet facility needs Level II
Trauma Center environment Local candidates accepted with no radius
restrictions Expected to provide comprehensive pediatric nursing
care including medication administration, IV therapy, and
respiratory support First-time travelers are welcome to apply for
this position Wear any solid color scrubs as per the dress code
Parking permit required; provided at no cost during orientation
Time off requests ideally should not exceed 5 days Discuss
potential block scheduling needs directly with the manager
Requirements Active IL RN license, or active application with
estimated time of arrival (ETA) Minimum 2 years of pediatric
nursing experience in med/surg or step down required Current BLS
and PALS certifications required Demonstrated skills in
endocrine/metabolic care (hyperbilirubinemia, insulin
administration) Experience with GI cases (breastfeeding support,
handling breast milk, various feeding methods, oral/ng tube
placement) Proficiency in IV therapy/phlebotomy (peripheral line
management, starting and maintaining IVs) Competency in pediatric
dosage calculations and emergency medication administration Skilled
in respiratory care (oral/nasal suctioning, oxygen delivery
systems) Infection prevention, isolation precautions, and wound
assessment/care required Cerner EMR experience required Benefits
