Pay Information $3,058 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neuro Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years' experience required License: Must have an active Illinois license Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required Must-Have: - Required work setting experience in Medical/Surgical - Required skills in cardiac monitoring and emergency response - Required skills in gastrointestinal case management, including colostomy care and feeding tube management - Required IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, including accessing ports and administering blood products - Required experience with neurological and psychiatric cases, including CVA and pre/post neuro surgery - Required respiratory case skills, including chest tube management and non-invasive airway management - Required professional knowledge in isolation precautions and wound care - Continuous bladder irrigation experience required - Proficiency with Cerner charting system required - Teaching hospital experience preferred - Trauma Level II experience preferred Description: This position requires a Medical Surgical Neuro RN. The shift is night shifts with three 12-hour shifts per week. The average daily census is 32 patients. Candidates must be willing to work every other weekend. Floating may be required to meet facility needs. Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions. If there are requests for time off, ideally no more than five days will be accommodated. Candidates may be called off up to 36 hours per assignment without financial compensation for those cancelled hours. If more hours are cancelled than allowed, compensation will be billed for those additional hours. If candidates are placed on-call instead of being called off, this will count as a cancelled shift. It is essential for the candidate to have familiarity with telemetry and remote monitoring. Experience with rapid response teams is also necessary. Required medication management experience includes heparin, insulin, and PCA. Candidates must have experience in nursing care for patients undergoing various surgical procedures. Responsibilities include managing IVs, central lines, and patient care before and after surgical interventions. The candidate will engage in patient education and care planning. A detailed understanding of critical care protocols and emergency response is required.
