Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Springfield, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,200 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required. License: Must have an active state nursing license. Certifications: ACLS and BLS required. Must-Have: - Experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown. - Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage dysrhythmias. - Experience with telemetry on the unit and remote monitoring. - Skills in post cardiac angiogram, post MI, pre/post cardiac cath, and pre/post cardiac surgery. - Experience in feeding tube care and management. - Skills in pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure. - Proficient in IV therapy and phlebotomy, including accessing ports and managing arterial lines. - Knowledge of medication management, including heparin protocols and cardiac/vasoactive drips. - Experience with CVA and surgical drains. - Proficient in respiratory care, including chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, and high flow nasal cannula. - Understanding of isolation precautions and wound care. - Previous charge experience preferred. - Cerner experience required. - Teaching hospital experience preferred. - Level I Trauma experience preferred. Description: This position is for an experienced registered nurse in an intermediate care setting. The nurse will work day shifts, providing care for patients with various cardiac conditions. The average daily census in the unit will be around 38 patients. The nurse will float to similar units as necessary to meet facility needs. Weekend shifts will be required every other weekend. Candidates must have skills in managing various cardiovascular cases and gastrointestinal care. Experience in managing hemodynamic monitoring and telemetry is essential. The nurse will need to administer medications, manage IVs, and provide respiratory support as required. Knowledge of patient care protocols and infection control is crucial. The position may involve interaction with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to handle complex patient scenarios with composure.
