Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Labor and Delivery - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/02/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring an active IL RN license and certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in an 18-bed Labor & Delivery unit within an acute care hospital - Care for obstetric patients including antepartum, high-risk, and mother/baby cases with occasional Level I nursery responsibilities - Night shifts available as either 3x12 or 4x12 hour schedules from 18:00 to 06:30 - No weekend or on-call requirements - Clinicians are required to float within the hospital and may float to pediatrics or affiliate hospitals based on need - Cerner is the charting system used and experience is preferred - Responsibilities include labor management, delivery assistance, postpartum care, neonatal assessment, and patient teaching - Must be able to assist with high-risk cases, perform sterile procedures, and manage both routine and emergent deliveries - First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment - Scrubs are provided for this role - Candidates must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if scheduled - No set radius for local nurses; local candidates are accepted with equal consideration /n /n Requirements/n - Active IL RN license or proof of application with expected licensure - Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring - Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience - Skillset including antepartum care, fetal monitoring (external/internal), NST, OCT, IV therapy, medication administration, and newborn care - Experience in high risk deliveries, c-section assistance, and postpartum care - Cerner experience preferred but not required - Must not have been employed as a permanent or PRN staff at the facility within the past 12 months /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-658251.
