in Peoria, Illinois, 61605! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession:
Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift:
Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 1 year
License: Active IL license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
Must-Have: - PEG tube care and feedings - CVC, PICC, and Midline
usage and care - Experience with tracheostomy patients - Caring for
sedated and ventilated patients - Titrating vasopressors and
managing sedation and pain control drips Description: The position
is in a high acuity unit focusing on critical care. The unit has a
total of 8 beds. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:2-3. Common
diagnoses include respiratory failure, post-surgical care, wound
care, IV antibiotics, post-stroke care, trauma recovery, and
cardiac patients. New hires will participate in orientation, which
includes classroom instruction and precepted shifts on the unit.
Nurses provide primary care in the ICU as there are no nurse aides
or patient care technicians. A hospitalist or intensivist will be
present in-house during the day, with tele-health medical support
available at night. Respiratory Therapy is available in-house 24/7,
and nurses are expected to troubleshoot various respiratory
equipment. All ICU beds are equipped with hardwired telemetry
monitors, which are centrally monitored by a telemetry technician
on site. Registered Nurses may float to the medical-surgical unit
when necessary. Scrubs are required, with only OSF approved
t-shirts allowed. Holiday and weekend shifts will be as needed. A
charge nurse is available on each shift, and there is a house
supervisor present 24/7. The charting system utilized is EPIC.
Experience with titratable and set rate drips is essential,
including but not limited to Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed,
Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, and Dopamine. 5
