Registered Nurse (RN) | Pediatric Med/Surg Location: Decatur, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,272 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/13/2026 About the Position Job Title: Pediatric Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active IL license required Certifications: BLS and PALS required Must-Have: Pediatric MedSurg and Pediatric Step Down/Telemetry experience. Experience in hyperbilirubinemia and insulin administration. Experience with breastfeeding support, handling of breast milk, and various feeding methods. Experience in placement and management of oral and nasogastric tubes. Experience in peripheral line care and management, including starting and maintaining IVs. Knowledge of pediatric dosage calculations. Experience with oral and nasal suctioning and oxygen delivery systems. Knowledge in infection prevention, isolation precautions, wound assessment, and care. EMR experience required. Description: The Pediatric Registered Nurse will work in a unit featuring 11 rooms and 16 beds. The position requires working nights from 18:00 to 06:30. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required, but first-timers are accepted. Weekend work every other weekend is required. The nurse will float as needed within the scope of practice to meet facility needs. Schedule requests may be discussed with the manager for accommodations. Candidates must possess skills in handling infants and pediatric patients. Required case skills include management of chest tubes and insertion of urinary catheters. Daily patient ratios are approximately 4. Interdisciplinary support available from various teams such as IV, physical therapy, and pharmacy. The nurse will care for patients with diagnoses such as respiratory distress, viral infections, and failure to thrive. Candidates must be able to manage patient care and demonstrate competency in required skills. Orientation and training will be provided to ensure proper integration into the unit.
