Job Description:
Overview The Supervisor of Clinical Education is responsible for
overseeing the daily operations of clinical education, ensuring
that all activities comply with regulatory requirements for ongoing
education and annual training. This role leads the clinical
education team to achieve high levels of productivity,
effectiveness, engagement, and accomplishment. Working
collaboratively with the Manager and Director, the supervisor helps
shape and implement strategies for continuous clinical learning,
including the development and rollout of new training and
communication methods. The supervisor supports the team in
fulfilling departmental needs such as: Orientation and onboarding,
Competency management, Education delivery, Role development,
Building collaborative partnerships, Advancing research,
evidence-based practice, and quality improvement. By designing and
executing meaningful strategies to enhance competence and build
skills, the supervisor contributes to excellence in clinical
practice. They work closely with stakeholders across the
organization to ensure that clinical training initiatives align
with departmental needs and support Carle Health‘s vision of
providing top-tier care. In this position, the supervisor applies
effective adult learning principles to engage and support clinical
learners throughout the Carle Health system. Qualifications
Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 3
months - American Heart Association (AHA); Nursing Professional
Development Certification (NPD-BC) within 2 years - American Nurses
Credentialing Center (ANCC); Licensed Registered Professional Nurse
(RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
(IDFPR); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart
Association (AHA), Education: Bachelor‘s Degree: Nursing, Work
Experience: Nurse Professional Development; Clinical bedside
Responsibilities Applies systems thinking and supports change
management by coordinating and delivering orientation, education,
and learning opportunities for clinical staff. Acts as a change
agent by guiding team members and peers in understanding the
importance and impact of process changes, especially those
involving new technologies. Fosters trusting, collaborative
relationships with staff, peers, educators, and administration to
strengthen clinical team functions. Contributes to achieving
targeted outcomes and metrics by actively participating in team
efforts and supporting departmental goals. Provides day-to-day
oversight of onboarding programs to ensure clinical roles are
supported and prepared for success. Coordinates and supports
Patient Care Orientation ensuring consistency and quality. Supports
the implementation and ongoing improvement of didactic education
and professional development programs, ensuring they remain current
and aligned with organizational needs. Assists clinical educators
in developing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based pathways
and clinical guidelines to promote consistent, high-quality, and
cost-effective care. Helps ensure compliance with regulatory
requirements by supporting education offerings and competency
assessments. Provides input for the departmental budget and helps
manage resources within established guidelines. Regularly follows
up with staff to monitor progress toward desired outcomes and
provides coaching as needed. Demonstrates leadership presence by
participating in team meetings, facilitating discussions, and
supporting team engagement. Addresses conflicts and disagreements
constructively, seeking positive resolutions. Ensures that the
patient perspective is considered in decision-making processes.
Engages educators in shared decision-making by facilitating shared
governance committees for education/professional development.
Supports infrastructure for shared decision-making. Creates an
environment that facilitates the team to initiate actions that
produce results. Creates an environment in which others are setting
expectations and holding each other accountable. Demonstrates the
values and standards of behavior as well as adherence to policies
and procedures and safety guidelines. Demonstrates ability to meet
business needs of department. Practices and reflects knowledge of
HIPAA, DNV, OSHA, and other federal/state regulatory agencies
guiding healthcare. Is knowledgeable of hospital and department
compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs
(e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse.

this position is $43.71per hour - $75.18per hour. This represents a
good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of
posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a
candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but
not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications,
location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
