Job Description Payroll Specialist
- Decatur, ILThis is a full time, non-exempt position.Position
Summary:The Payroll Specialist will play a critical role in ADM's
Corporate Payroll team.
In this fast paced, customer service driven environment, the
Payroll Specialist will interact with a diverse workforce including
colleagues and management. The successful candidate will be
responsible for payroll activities that are essential to the
operations organization.
Job Responsibilities:Accurately process hourly payroll, meeting
weekly deadlinesDiligently track employees' time away from work and
ensure compliance with ADM and/or statutory
requirements.Consistently review employee status and update as
neededEngage and coordinate with location management to ensure
employees are paid correctlySolve relatively complex problems
related to compensationProvide guidance and support to ADM
employees timely and accuratelyCollaborate with management and
other departments across the organizationJob Requirements:Minimum
of three years of general office/accounting experience; payroll
experience preferredAssociate's/Bachelor's degree preferred or
equivalent experienceIntermediate understanding of
accounting/mathematical procedures is requiredAbility to work
independently as well as in a team environmentKnowledge of ADM
business units/structure preferredSuperior attention to detail with
the ability to locate discrepanciesMotivation to be innovative with
a continuous improvement mindsetCustomer Service, organization and
time management skillsAbility to set goals, prioritize, and manage
multiple tasks to meet deadlinesComfortable making quick/calculated
decisionsKnowledge of IBM (CICS &IMS), Attendance Enterprise
(AE), Hourly Detail Pay (HDP) systems preferredMust be proficient
in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookMust be able to hear
and speak clearly; read, comprehend and communicate, orally and in
writing in order to effectively communicate in person or by
phonePhysical requirements include standing, filing, bending,
sitting for extended periods of time and working on the
