Job Description Human Resource GeneralistDecatur Corn PlantFull Time Exempt PositionThe HR Generalist will partner with and report to the HR Manager, Decatur Corn Plant.
This position will provide HR support for various levels of management and colleagues within the plant.
The position is responsible for supporting key plant initiatives through recruiting and retention efforts, coordination of employee engagement and employee relations efforts, employee development and training initiatives, policy administration and affirmative action efforts.
The ideal candidate will foster innovative ideas and a desire to explore new possibilities.Position Responsibilities:Develop and maintain successful working relationships with plant leadership and the union in order to influence and provide effective HR processes, advice and support.Demonstrate a strong commitment to our Core Values while promoting throughout all levels of the organization.Actively champion and promote all safety related policies and programs to ensure colleague engagement and commitment to the benefits of working safe.Prepare position descriptions, track employment requisitions, direct all aspects of pre-employment screening process and conduct new hire orientation.Participate in the selection and hiring process. Coordinate searches, recruit prospective colleagues, screen candidates, interview applicants and offer employment.Partner to cultivate a workforce planning strategy and knowledge transfer process to build current and future bench strength, supporting succession planning.Increase understanding and consistent application of policies, procedures, and practices through training, coaching, one-on-one communication and policy interpretation.Manage the grievance process.Provide feedback, coaching and support for Performance Excellence and other development programs.Position Requirements:BA/BS in Business, Human Resources or related field is required.A minimum of three years' work experience in a manufacturing environment, union experience preferred.Proven ability to successfully resolve employee relations issues while maintaining positive employee relations.Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws.Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential.Successfully relates to and works with a diverse workforce in a variety of positions including senior leaders, location leaders and hourly colleagues.Ability to build trust, gain support and influence others.Proven ability to work independently, takes initiative and drives results.Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office.Excited about this role but don't meet every requirement listed?
