Senior Scientist - NIR/FT-NIR Specialist - Decatur, ILADM Global Quality Control LaboratoryThis is an exempt level position.Position Summary:The successful candidate will serve as a NIR/FT-NIR subject matter expert within global quality control laboratory group, implementing strategies and supporting tactics for successful benchtop NIR/FT-NIR program management in ADM's quality control laboratories. Job Responsibilities:Build a robust ADM global benchtop NIR program in quality control laboratories to ensure accurate and reliable data generated by NIR networkDefine the requirement for NIR calibrationReview and analyze data for the improvement and development of NIR calibrationsDevelop ADM matrix specific NIR calibrations for new product development. Improve existing NIR calibration by analyzing the global data as needed by different business unitsCentralize and standardize existing NIR calibration based on product type and regionsExplore new methods and techniques related to NIRProvide SME support for troubleshooting related to NIR processes and programsBuild strong relationship with NIR vendors. Track and trend the NIR data for optimizationJob Requirements:These skills and experiences will be required for the candidate:Subject matter expert in chemometrics and NIR spectroscopy in a food industry or laboratory environment. B.S degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in NIR measurement in food related industryExperience with different spectroscopic techniquesExperience in database managementProject management, demonstrating delivery of value to the business through execution of projectsExperience in method developmentKnowledge of statistics and SPC toolsExcellent written and oral communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnelDemonstrated ability to work with diverse, multidisciplinary teamsRelocation assistance is available with this position.This position offers a complete benefit package, including 401K/ESOP, pension, health, life and dental insurance.ADM requires the successful completion of applicable pre-employment drug screen, medical questionnaire and a background check.
