Please follow the directions below when applying to this position.DO NOT APPLY ONLINEDO NOT CLICK THE APPLY BUTTONCMS100/B Employment Application and all applicable documentation should be submitted to the Agency contact listed below.Posting Identification #713Position Description and ResponsibilitiesUnder direction of the Office Administrator III, performs complex clerical functions for the Record Office; performs sentence calculations; performs variety of keyboarding and text-editing duties in inputting confidential information on offenders through the use of an automated computer ternimal or personal computer.20% Performs complex sentence calculations, including Earned Good Conduct Credits, Supplemental Sentencing Credits and revocation/restoration of good conduct credits.20% Processes disciplinary reports.15% Maintains a computer check on all commitment information on ofenders received in transfer, entry of sentence structure changes and entry of information from various sources.15% Prepares drop slips on offender movement out of the institution.15% Processes recommendations for good conduct credit and grade restoration.10% Keyboards complex charts, statistical reports, documents, forms, memoranda and letters including legal, medical and psychological terminology where and understanding of specialized terms is required to ensure clarity and accuracy.05% Performs other duties as required or assigned which are resonably within the scope of those enumerated above.Minimum RequirementsRequires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience.Requires extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures and programs.Requires extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.Requires working knowledge of basic mathematics.Requires elementary knowledge of agency programs, rules and regulations.Requires ability to follow oral or written instructions.Requires ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment and perform routine maintenance.May require skill in keyboarding accurately at 45 Words Per Minute.Conditions of EmploymentRequires the ability to pass the Illinois Department of Corrections background check.On January 1, 2020, the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act made it legal for residents over the age of 21 to produce, consume and sell cannabis in Illinois.
