Job Description:

A Data Analytics Specialist will research and assess the company's complex information including sales numbers, market research, or behavior, with the goal of reaching simpler, smarter conclusions, and use their technical expertise to stress test the data for quality and accuracy. It is imperative the role is able to translate the numbers into layman's terms to provide decision makers with actionable conclusions via the use of charts, graphs, tables, and graphics to explain what the data means across specific amounts of time or various departments. As such, this individual may partner with key stakeholders to identify and monitor solutions.Using automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sourcesRemoving corrupted data and fixing coding errors and related problemsDeveloping and maintaining databases, data systems - reorganizing data in a readable format Performing analysis to assess quality and meaning of dataFilter Data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and correct code problemsUsing statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and predictionAssigning numerical value to essential business functions so that business performance can be assessed and compared over periods of time.Analyzing local, national, and global trends that impact both the organization and the industryPreparing reports for the management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant dataServe as a primary contact and partner for third-party consultants in problem-solving reporting and data integration challenges.Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. May be required to cross train and perform other duties.Minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or similar field. 1-3 years work experience preferredStrong mathematical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyze data Knowledge of programming languages like SQL, Oracle, R, MATLAB, and Python preferredExperience in handling reporting packages like Business Objects, programming (Javascript, XML, or ETL frameworks), databases preferredTechnical proficiency regarding database design development, data models, techniques for data mining, and segmentation.Proficiency in statistics and statistical packages like Excel, SPSS, SAS to be used for data set analyzingKnowledge of how to create and apply the most accurate algorithms to datasets in order to find solutions Accuracy and attention to detailAdept at queries, writing reports, and making presentationsTeam-working skillsVerbal and Written communication skillsProven working experience in data analysisHighly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
