Job Description:
Summary:
The DEA Compliance Specialist III is responsible for the review and
process of all documentation related to DEA Regulated Substances to
ensure compliance with Curia's Compliance Program and all Federal
and State regulations and requirements applicable to controlled
substances/listed chemicals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises and mentors DEA Specialist I position.
Education and/or Experience:
Associate degree or equivalent from two (2) year college and at
least two (2) years related experience and/or training. Extensive
experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially
Excel.
Working knowledge of MRP principles and Supply Chain. Prior
experience with understanding and executing strict government
regulations, specifically with the DEA and FDA, is desired. A high
degree of initiative with demonstrated ability to work
independently and meet timelines. Demonstrated ability to
communicate and coordinate effectively with other departments.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business
periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or
governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business
correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively
present information and respond to questions from groups of
managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and
statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry
and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions,
percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of
concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization
exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should know
Database software; Manufacturing software; Spreadsheet software,
and Word Processing software. Proficient in the use of MS Word,
Excel, Outlook, and Access
Other Qualifications:
Must pass a background check
Must pass a drug screen
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to
sit and use their hands to handle or feel. The employee is
occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and
arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The
employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds,
frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift
and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by
this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,
peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is
occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious
places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals;
risk of electrical shock; explosives; risk of radiation, and
vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually
moderate.
