Reliability Engineer III
This position will also be expected to provide technical and
engineering support and troubleshooting advice to maintenance and
various operational areas. This position will utilize a core set of
principles to drive continuous improvement in safety and
performance.
Essential job duties :
- This position will lead the plant equipment reliability
program. Through a team effort, select methods and establish
predictive and proactive techniques and programs to assure cost
effective use of plant assets, maintain maximum availability of the
equipment and assure the greatest possible standardization of
equipment. Analyze failures for root cause and means to prevent
reoccurrence.
- Develop programs for routine inspection of process systems to
meet PSM requirements. Coordinate implementation of programs and
perform self-audits. Assure that all facility maintenance and PM is
completed in a timely manner, including maintenance
records.
- Provide technical expertise for piping and systems, pumps,
valves, compressors, buildings and civil work, inspection and
testing methods. Develop requirements and specifications for
process equipment and machinery. Interface with support groups
where additional expertise is required.
- Integrates best maintenance technologies into predictive,
preventive, and condition-based maintenance programs
- Provides engineering support for capital and expense
projects
- Experience with development of Equipment Criticality Scorecards
and Mapping.
- Develop, implement and support preventative and predictive
maintenance strategies for new and existing equipment (vibration
analysis, lubrication program, oil analysis, ultrasonic, infrared,
NDT, thermography, MCE testing, and precision maintenance)
- Provides engineering support to Maintenance and Operations
(troubleshooting, problem solving, cost estimating and
implementation of mechanical design solutions)
- Provide support to operational areas with emphasis on short and
long-term reliability improvements
- Provide leadership to drive continuous improvement with asset
and site reliability
- Participate and lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and
Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) efforts to identify root
causes of complex and/or repetitive problems and put in place
executable corrective actions
- Review plans for new equipment and contribute to the Design for
Reliability process by validating reliability and maintainability
of the systems
- Support implementation of reliability processes aimed at
developing skilled maintenance and operating personnel who operate
with a reliability-centric mindset
- Analyze operational data (KPIs, OEE, etc.) to identify gaps and
areas of potential improvement
- Ensure that accurate, up-to-date spare parts lists are
available for existing equipment while specifying standardization
of components used in repairs. Also, ensure spare parts lists are
provided for all new installations and components identified are
consistent with established standards. Establish proper stores and
stocking levels for spares for plant assets.
- Prepare and operate within budget. Report on maintenance
activity and explain variances.
- Maintain Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS);
function as the site system administrator for the CMMS or
appropriate modules of ERP system.
- Other duties as assigned including stand-in maintenance
supervisor when needed.
- Work with other Reliability Engineers to share knowledge and
gain expertise in development of mill wide reliability
strategies
- Actively participate in design and implementation of Asset
Improvement Strategies for systems to improve production and
uptime
Education Requirements :
- Bachelor's Degree in a related scientific field or Engineering
Technology and a minimum of 6 years progressive maintenance and
project experience in a chemical-manufacturing environment OR In
lieu of a degree 10 years of maintenance experience in a
manufacturing/industrial or military environment (i.e. Quality
Inspector, Certified Weld Inspector) will be accepted
- A working knowledge is required of Reliability Based
Maintenance, Total Productive Maintenance and Computerized
Maintenance Management System use and a certification in any is a
plus
- In lieu of Degree will consider 10 years maintenance experience
in a manufacturing/industrial or military environment (i.e. Quality
Inspector, Certified Weld Inspector)
- Experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and
Outlook
What Will Put You Ahead :
- Vibration Analysis Training/Qualifications
- NADCAP or Pressure Vessel Inspection Experience
- Managed a Site Mechanical integrity Inspection Program
- Experience with Reliability Improvement tools (Root Cause
Failure Analysis (RCFA), Preventative/Predictive maintenance, KPIs
Six Sigma experience or certification
- Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) OR Certified Maintenance
and Reliability Professional (CMRP)
