Position Description:The Scheduler / Raw Materials Planner is responsible for meeting customer demand by scheduling production, ordering raw materials, scheduling receipts, maintaining targeted inventory turns, communication with related functional groups, and tracking vendor performance.Responsibilities:

• Review PICS system stock requirements of assigned raw materials to determine actions required, such as ordering, delaying delivery, or expediting.
• Convert valid requirements into purchase requisitions, or purchase orders, to meet projected production needs.
• Collaborate with customers, vendors, other sites, other vendors, or competitors to obtain materials to meet customer demand and/or avoid production downtime.
• Maintain Raw Material Planning Values for new assigned materials.
• Review slow moving and obsolete materials.
• Maintain targeted inventory turns / levels for assigned material groups.
• Review vendor open order status reports for accuracy and update PICS accordingly.
• Provide inventory reports as requested.
• Serves as primary contact to our customers, receiving orders and entering them into SAP system.
• Serves as liaison between Customers, Conversion, Quality, and Logistics representatives.
• Responsible for the scheduling of the production lines based on customer orders, production line availability, and sales forecasts.
• Communicates with customers regarding issues and complaints, and coordinates actions with Quality representatives.
• Utilizes the SAP computer system for inventory verification and production planning.
• Formulates long term production plans for dedicated lines to plan and account for the building of inventory.
• Provide input regarding site capacity and sourcing of production alternatives as needed.
