FACILITIES, MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
It is the responsibility of the Facilities, Maintenance Technician
to facilitate the routine preventative maintenance and repair of
the Company equipment and facilities. The Facilities, Maintenance
Technician will maintain a working understanding of plant
production processes, equipment systems, and facilities in order to
perform such maintenance effectively; and will work closely with
management, engineers, quality control, and safety personnel to
perform in compliance with all governmental regulations and safety
procedures. The Facilities, Maintenance Technician will perform
modifications and repairs to facility, properties, equipment and
furniture, and assists in the maintenance and upkeep of the general
facility, including custodial functions.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
Language/Communication Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short
correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small
group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the
organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and
interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability
to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in
standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift
and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities
required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color
vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust
focus. Incumbent may be required to obtain/qualify for and maintain
the clearance to wear a respirator at a "class B" level or above
following OSHA mandated guidelines.

exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently

caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in
the work environment is usually moderate.
