Job Description:

The purpose of the Inventory Planner is to assist the Inventory Planning team with driving profitability and managing inventory with comprehensive analysis of the business and identification of local and regional opportunities. This position makes assortment-related recommendations to the buyers and VPs of Purchasing.

  Develop and execute inventory plans by managing inventory flow based on sales and opportunity.
  
  
• 
  Identify most cost-effective freight flow including internal supply-chain impacts.
  
  
• 
  Lead preseason strategy development and vendor planning.
  
  
• 
  Help maintain in-stock.
  
  
• 
  Lead open-to-buy process.
  
  
• 
  Identify underperforming areas and recommend actions to the category manager.
  
  
• 
  Recommend vendor SKU modification according to individual store performance.
  
  
• 
  Recommend adjustments based on trends from last season.
  
  
• 
  Provide specific, timely in-season recommendations.
  
  
• 
  Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  
  
• 
  May be required to cross train and perform other duties.
  
  
  QUALIFICATIONS

    At least 1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
    
    
  • 
    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
    
    
  • 
    Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
    
    
  • 
    Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn Oracle systems.
    
    
  • 
    Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
    
    
  • 
    Excellent customer service skills.
    
    
  • 
    Strong understanding of retail business practices.
    
    
  • 
    Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
