Job Title: Maintenance/Custodian -Weekends
Department: DISC
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Prepared Date: 8/18/22

SUMMARY
Maintain the Decatur Indoor Sports Center facility in order to provide the public with a positive impression of the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Maintains and sets up athletic and program equipment
Maintains and repairs building and athletic equipment.

Maintain walks and access in the event of inclement weather.
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, burnishes and vacuums all areas of the facility.

Empties trash and garbage containers and collects recyclable items for recycling.

Cleans and maintains cleanliness of all restrooms, floors and rooms in the DISC.

Cleans and repairs vandalism.
Performs painting where necessary.

Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.

Other Duties as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
